Baptism at The Mount Church

An Outward Expression of an Inward Reality

At The Mount Church, we believe baptism is a vital step of obedience for those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ. It is an outward expression of an inward reality, symbolizing the believer’s identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection.

The Five Points of Baptism at The Mount:

The Water

Baptism symbolizes the cleansing and washing away of sin, not by the power of the water itself, but by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

“knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.”
1 Peter 1:18–19

The Dunk

We practice full immersion in baptism as a biblical representation of the believer’s union with Christ in His death and burial. It signifies putting to death the old self and being clothed with the new life in Christ.

"We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death…" Romans 6:4a

The Rise

Emerging from the water symbolizes the new life we have in Christ, purchased for us through His resurrection. It demonstrates a life transformed by His grace and empowered by His Spirit.

“…in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.” Romans 6:4b

The Church

Baptism is a public declaration of faith, celebrated within the church community as an ordinance commanded by our Lord Jesus. We believe baptism is a shared moment of worship and joy for the entire congregation, as we welcome new believers into the family of faith.

“For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body…”
1 Corinthians 12:13

The Story

Each baptism candidate is encouraged to share their personal testimony. This is a powerful way to proclaim God’s work in your life and bring glory to Him.

“And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.”
Revelation 12:11
